On September 18, International Forum on Problems of Electronics, Photonics, Radiophysics and Alternative Energy – “Nano and Giga Forum” NGC/CTRP 2017. It takes place in Russia for the third time: the first two were in Moscow, and in 2017 scientists from 15 countries gathered in Tomsk State University.

– Carrying out this event in our university is a logical event, because the TSU has long had a scientific school for working with radio electronics, it is known in the international space in academic terms, industrial and defense, – said the vice-rector of the TSU for studies Viktor Demin . – An important role was played by interaction with University of Arizona, thanks to Professor Anatoly Korkin, a whole team of scientists came from there. During the week there will be a lot of events in TSU: conference, lectures, exhibition, master classes, schools.
This year, scientists will discuss ossibility of replacing silicon in semiconductors, use of magnetic materials for transmission and storage of information, the creation of devices for energy storage and other relevant issues. Main topics will be alternative energy and new information on its sources and consumption opportunities.

– I’ve been cooperating with TSU since 2010, and now we are ripe for this large-scale event, “said organizer of forum, professor of University of Arizona Anatoly Korkin. – People from all over the world gathered here who work in the field of photonics, radio electronics and alternative energy. These are physicists, chemists, material scientists – a very interdisciplinary team.

Within framework of forum there will be a conference “Current trends of radiophysics”, a school-seminar on programming micro-devices and computer architecture, lectures of foreign scientists, meetings on innovations in high technologies, programming on chips, computer architecture and modeling of materials and devices.

– Here there are our industrial partners and more than 50 foreign scientists – said Dean of Faculty of Radiophysics TSU Alexander Korotaev. – These are new acquaintances, projects, a new field for cooperation.

On September 18, traditional exhibition opened in Culture Center of TSU (3rd floor), where university and its partners present their developments in field of radiophysics, it will work until September 22.
